WidePIX CHROMATIC Medipix3 Photon-Counting X-ray Detector
Model: WidePIX CHROMATIC
Brand: Advacam

Introduction
Large-area imaging detector WidePIX CHROMATICComposed of an array of Medipix3 hybrid detector electronic modules, each module (256×256 pixels) can be equipped with either a silicon sensor or a cadmium telluride sensor. As a result, the entire detection area of the WidePIX CHROMATIC offers full sensitivity, with virtually no gaps between modules (less than 4 pixels).
Each pixel integrates two sets of 12-bit digital counters and dual-energy discrimination thresholds. The counters can record the number of detected particles and support setting a target energy threshold. The two counters can also be combined into a single 24-bit counter to achieve a higher dynamic range.
The particle-counting principle eliminates additional noise generated by the sensor or the electronic readout system, thereby acquiringX-ray images with ultra-high contrast and a wide dynamic range. This enables low-contrast structures such as plastics and soft tissue to be clearly visualized in X-ray images.
The energy-discrimination threshold capability of Medipix3 technology supports energy-resolved X-ray imaging, enabling material discrimination based on the energy-dependent attenuation characteristics of different materials in the sample under inspection. The energy-resolved measurement range typically starts from 5 keV, and the integrated charge-summing mode corrects for charge-sharing effects between pixels, significantly improving energy resolution and pixel-level spectral quality.
The WidePIX CHROMATIC is suitable for computed tomography (CT) systems, and its core advantages include:
Gap-free large-area sensitive region
Energy discrimination threshold technology
Color X-ray imaging capability based on spectral information
Readout speed of up to 170 frames per second
Hardware-level time delay integration mode in single-row configuration
Charge summation mode (CSM) with hardware-level correction of inter-pixel charge sharing effects
Convenient system integration
Ethernet connection interface
