easyLIGHT VUV Compact Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectrometer
Wavelength range of 80 ~ 300 nm
Model: easyLIGHT VUV
Brand: HP Spectroscopy

Introduction
- Spectrograph and monochromator functions
- Gratings with optimal efficiency
- Wavelength range of 80–300 nm
- High-precision wavelength setting
- Compact, modular design
The easyLIGHT VUV is a compact VUV spectrometer with a highly competitive price. Its spectral range covers 80–300 nm. Aberration-corrected gratings provide best-in-class efficiency of up to 43%. The combined spectrograph and monochromator functionality offers maximum flexibility. The entrance and/or exit slits can be adjusted continuously, either manually or motorized.
Available detector types:
- VUV CCD cameras offer the highest resolution and dynamic range
- MCP and CMOS detectors provide the widest wavelength coverage, as well as gating and intensified detector capabilities
- Photomultiplier tubes are suitable for scanning applications
Custom designs based on the easyLIGHT spectrometer can be discussed.
Modular design
![]() ![]() | The versatile and flexible design of the easyLIGHT allows for rapid switching between spectrograph and monochromator modes. The entrance and detector/exit ports are interchangeable. Three auxiliary ports are available for installing vacuum pumps, vacuum gauges, additional feedthroughs, and more. |

The figure above illustrates the detection of sulfur in a lunar analog sample using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). The aim was to investigate the potential of VUV-LIBS for Mars missions. The results indicate improved sulfur detection capability compared to LIBS in the standard spectral range. The detection limit for sulfur was estimated to be 0.5 at%.
